We recently identified an issue affecting GPS2 watches (model A1144), which may cause the device screen to freeze when using GPS-related functions such as Auto-Set, Go-Surf, or Go-Track.
Note: GPS1 & GPS3 watches are not affected.
What You Need to Know:
- A firmware update is now available to permanently resolve the GPS2 Watch Freezing issue.
- The update will be available via the SearchGPS Desktop App for Mac and Windows, downloadable at searchgps.ripcurl.com.
- Customers with frozen watches will need to allow the battery to fully drain (approximately 2 days) before updating.
What You Need to Do:
- Download the SearchGPS Desktop App for Mac or Windows at searchgps.ripcurl.com.
- Connect your GPS2 watch to your computer (ensure it is charged above 20% before continuing)
- Follow the on-screen instructions to sync your surfs and complete the new firmware update (version 2.1.1).
- System Reset your GPS2 watch after a firmware update Settings > System Reset. This will ensure the fix is complete.
Once installed and reset, your watch will resume normal functionality. Now just set the time and tide of your GPS2 manually or via auto-set.
